Would you rather listen to a man vulgarly tell the truth or a man peacefully say the similar information? Well, throughout history many people have chosen to listen to the latter. The reason people would choose to listen to a more peaceful man is because he is far less dangerous and more appealing. People during the Civil Rights movement were placed in a very similar situation with Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.King was a man of the christian religion who preached non-violence in the fight for Civil Rights. Vice Versa, Malcolm was a man of Islamic religion who preached violence in the name of justice. This quote shows Malcolm view of ra cial separatism and how the conflict at has root within the past. Hence the name â€Å"Message to the Grassroots†. Both forms of communication the message were transferred effectively, but to different audience. Secondly, Malcolm and Dr.King had both different audiences. Malcolm’s audience was very diverse. Malcolm usually started most of his speeches of greeting everyone. Everyone would include enemies, friends, family, and other people. Dr.King ,however, had a different audience . His audience usually consisted of christian americans, civil rights activist, and other unique people. One major factor that influenced their audiences was their religion. Due to the fact that Malcolm was muslim, he was not accepted as quickly or as easily as Dr.King. This bias of religion influenced how far and how effective this speeches affected their audiences. Besides the bias of religion , Malcolm and Dr.king’s different styles of speech affected their audiences. Finally, Different styles of speech separated Dr.King from Malcolm. Dr.King, like most southern preachers, spoke very uplifting and proud. Dr.King would often make biblical references that corresponded with his speech and audience at hand. This very tactic allowed him to effectively transmit his message.
